About Us

Suzy and Liz have worked with hundreds of families worldwide. They are friends and colleagues who strive to offer a high standard of understanding care.

Over the last 30 years working professionally with families, Suzy and Liz noticed that, for parents struggling with their infant’s sleep or feeding concerns and parents with new babies, there was a lack of evidence-based, truly personalized advice and more importantly, ‘in-home’ support from experienced professionals. Although there are online services with some offering a few hours in the home, in the following days and nights when a specifc problem arises, parents are left wondering what to do and many are simply too sleep deprived or lack the confidence at 2am to be able to follow through with the advice on their own.

Naturally Suzy and Liz teamed up to form ‘Baby Sleep Retreat’. Their aim is to empower parents by offering a completely non-judgemental, honest and friendly service, sharing their knowledge gained from years and years of working with families and offering kind support to parents when they most need it.

Suzy is cheerful, calm with a compassionate nature and a positive attitude. She has the unique ability to understand how babies see their world and this brings tranquillity into a stressful situation. Suzy admits she has a bit of a soft spot for twins and she loves a challenge!

When she was three years old, Suzy firmly told her parents that she would work with babies and children.  For more than 30 years she has coached many hundreds of families worldwide. As a qualified British nanny her first placement was caring for five children under six years, including newborn twins. After working in nurseries, a school and as a nanny in the UK and Europe she moved to France and quickly learned to speak french. She set up a childcare service, trained nannies for night and day care, organized infant entertainment at company events and was the manageress a nursery (2 months old to 3 years). She went on to gain a solid reputation as an international Maternity Nurse whilst still doing some research into sleep and breastfeeding. She worked with multiples and felt the impact that sleep deprivation has on the whole family.

With a desire to help more parents, Suzy took her studies even further and even now she attends conferences, workshops etc. She has a high level of success with behavioural sleep disorders and feeding concerns (bottle refusal). She works with families throughout the UK but also hops onto planes and ferries to help families in Europe and throughout Asia.

Liz Woolfitt

Over the last 35 years, Liz has worked in private homes advising and supporting parents of infants from newborn to pre-school. Liz is a certified Sleep & Feeding Consultant, having worked many foundation years as a specialist Maternity Nurse caring for single babies, twins and triplets. As a mum herself, she knows first-hand that being a parent can sometimes be an emotional roller coaster. She is kind, caring and has a naturally gentle approach with a great deal of patience.

Liz understands the effects that lack of sleep can have on a family as well as affecting an infants’ development and well-being. She practices gentle sleep settling techniques with younger babies to set good sleep roots from an early age. For older infants she teaches happy sleep associations and the ability to self-settle. All this complimented with the right balance of daytime activity and nutrition promotes better quality sleep for the whole family.

Liz covers all areas of the UK as well as internationally. Please get in touch and see how she can help you.

"Life-changing"
